The Clay Shards can be retrieved from Adam. The first thing you need to do is upgrade the Talking Skull tavern. You then need to add items to the tavern to reach a tavern quality of 40
. After that return and speak with Adam. He'll then tell you to come back to his place at night to investigate someone coming around his place. When you come back in the evening you'll find Yorick terrorizing the house. Ask him to stop. The next morning, you should speak to Adam again and he'll thank you for you help and give you the Clay Shards.
