The furnace III is used to smelt ore into ingots and sand into glass. It requires fuel to operate; fuel is not consumed while idle - it is only used up when the workstation is in use, allowing the user to operate it as needed. It can either be built from scratch, or upgraded from a furnace II at less expense.
