Alchemy
Maggots can be decomposed into a solution or extract with the hand mixer and either of the distillation cubes, respectively. However, the yellow flower is identical in regards to alchemy, making that the ideal choice as it's generally far more abundant and renewable. Having unlocked Master of Alchemy produces one additional reagent at any workstation.

Fishing
Maggots can also be utilized while fishing, as one of eight(8) available baits to choose from.
- There are eight(8) susceptible fish; the Tilapia, Perch, Eel, Bream, Sardine, Pike, Carp, and Salmon.
- The Maggot is practically a 'starter' bait; easy to collect, and most often having commonality with "No Bait".
- The Sardine is generally considered the best commodity, given a Maggot bait.
- There are better fish, though most can be caught using more cost-effective means.
- Salmon is a good alternate, though restricted to the Sea location and Quality.
