A silver nugget is a relatively rare resource, found through - and used for - a variety of methods.
It can be found by mining Silver Veins encountered while exploring the Dungeon. Also, assuming one has researched the appropriate technologies (Building>Precious metals), there's a small chance of finding some while mining Iron ore - either from mining blocks from an Iron Vein, or from breaking the blocks down at a stone cutter. It's important to note that one will not find any precious metals from the iron deposits encountered within swampy landscapes.
With the appropriate technologies (Smithing>Jeweler), they can be used to create Silver ingots at a Furnace II, which currently may only be sold to the Merchant for money. Alternatively, once a nugget has been studied, it can be decomposed into silver powder for use in alchemy.
Silver nuggets have an approximate 30% drop rate during the ore prossess.
